Sister Marie Noelle Lawrence O.P. grew up in a military family and joined the Dominican Sisters in 2004 after receiving her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-9) from Eureka College with specializations in art, language arts and history. She is currently working on a master's in theology degree from Franciscan University. Sister has taught in schools across the country including: Tennessee, Maryland, Illinois and Ohio. She spent several years teaching Science and Art for kindergarten through 8th grade, is certified in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program levels one and two and has over ten years’ experience in 1st and 2nd grade. Sister has a great passion for creating a learning environment for her students that is hands-on, inquiry based and full of creative exploration. She especially enjoys finding ways to engage student learning in the beauty of the natural world and guiding children to a deeper relationship with the greatest gift of all; Jesus. Sister is excited to be joining the Saint Rose as a 2nd grade teacher in the fall and is looking forward to getting to know her students and all in the community.
